Transfer Stencil Account to Namecheap
Stencil joined Namecheap in late 2021 and as part of an ongoing effort to optimize accounts, we're moving all subscriptions over to Namecheap billing.
Here's How It'll Work
When you
initiate the transfer, you'll be taken to Namecheap.com to go through checkout. The price of your subscription won't change and you'll still have access to have everything you do now.
A new subscription will begin today and once the transition is complete, you'll get a pro-rated refund for any remaining amount on your previous subscription. Then, you'll receive a coupon for
50% off selected Namecheap services!
Please note: Namecheap signup does not allow an email address as the username. You'll need to come up with a username that is not your email address and does not have special characters.
Why are you asking me to do this?
In November 2021, Stencil joined Namecheap. We're in the process of consolidating subscriptions, so that they're all under one roof and easier to manage going forward. We really appreciate you taking the time to move your subscription over so we can better serve you.
How long does it take?
The whole process should take less than 5 minutes and your account will be completely unaffected.
Will my account be completely unchanged?
The only difference will be that your billing is now through Namecheap, which actually offers some advantages:
- All of your account information will be stored at Namecheap in one place. That means the same login information for both Namecheap and Stencil.
- You can manually upgrade your own account.
- You can manually turn off auto-renewal for your subscription.
- We now support PayPal as an additional payment method
Does Namecheap have the same cancellation policy for Stencil?
Yup! On our monthly plan, you can cancel at any time. No long-term commitments there. On our yearly plan, you get a great discount for paying for the full year in advance...If you change your mind, there's always a 7-day money back guarantee!
Are there any downsides to transferring my subscription to Namecheap?
Nope, only upsides:
- All of your account information will be stored at Namecheap in one place. That means the same login information for both Namecheap and Stencil.

Why do I need to go through checkout again?
Since Namecheap has a completely separate billing system (and we don't directly store credit card information), we need you to complete checkout again in order to move the subscription over. It should take less than 5 minutes to switch over, our apologies for any inconvenience!
